MAP Assessment (Hybrid & CDL)
Each year we administer the Measures of Academic Progress Assessment (MAP) 2-3 times as one of our methods of measuring student growth. We last administered this assessment in November. Last Friday, students completed the reading test and will complete the math test this Friday, April 9th.
The administration of this assessment will not change how students access school this Friday. Students in A day cohorts will attend school in-person to complete this assessment and students in B day cohorts and students continuing with CDL will join their 4th period class via Zoom to complete this assessment.
The MAP assessment provides teachers with current information on what your student knows and where your student is ready to go next in their learning. With assessment being a key part of the instructional process, no additional learning activities will be assigned these two days.
For additional information on the MAP assessment, please see the WLWV Parent Guide below:
WLWV Parent Guide (English)

Please direct any questions about this administration of the MAP test to Mr. Hertel (hertelk@wlwv.k12.or.us).

Change to Attendance Reporting
Starting the week of April 5, attendance phone calls will be made in the following circumstances:
- An attendance call (plus email and perhaps text message) will be placed in the morning when a student whose cohort group was at school for in-person learning is unexpectedly absent. For example, a student who is participating in hybrid learning in Cohort 'A', who is not at school in person an 'A' Day, and who was not previously excused through the school office, would be marked absent and would receive a morning phone call in this circumstance.
- An attendance call (plus email and perhaps text message) will be placed in the afternoon when a student whose cohort is NOT expected in school has not yet been present for CDL learning.
Attendance notifications will not change for students who are in the WLWV K12 Online Program. Thank you for your help in attendance reporting.
Switching from CDL to Hybrid (CDL)
Students in A day cohorts can return to school each Monday and students in B day cohorts can return to school each Tuesday. This system allows us to ensure that we are prepared for their return to in-person learning so we can welcome them in a safe and meaningful way.
We are using the following process for students who are continuing in CDL to transition to hybrid instruction if and when their families and them choose:
Email Ms. Perez (perezplj@wlwv.k12.or.us) of your desire to return to school no later than Wednesday preceding the desired Monday or Tuesday start date.
Ms. Perez will respond to your email confirming your student’s start date and will initiate communication with staff at Athey Creek.

Pictures Needed for the Yearbook! (CDL and WKOP)
The Yearbook Club needs your help. As with all things in the 2020-21 school year, putting together a yearbook for this year is both unique and extremely challenging, and we need your help!!. Here is a list of suggested categories:
First Day of School
Doing school at home
Me and My Pet (especially while doing schoolwork)
Hidden “Covid” Talents (things I learned how to do because I had time on my hands)
Foreign languages learning (Spanish & Chinese)
Working on Math, Social Studies, Science, or Language Arts assignments/projects
If you don’t have a camera, no worries, as cell phone pictures work fine. We just ask that cell phone pictures are as high-resolution as possible, this means that as you email or transfer them off of your phone, remember to choose the “actual size” or “full size” option, rather than the “small” or “medium” or “large” options or they will not work for the printed yearbook.
Please email all pictures to Mr. Casselman (the yearbook instructor) at at casselmb@wlwv.k12.or.us. If you are sending several pictures, you may need to send multiple emails with 3 to 4 pictures each, as high-resolution pictures tend to take up a lot of space.
Thank you so much, we literally can not do this without your kind support.
-Athey Creek Yearbook Club.

COVID-19 Testing in WLWV Schools
In the coming weeks, West Linn-Wilsonville schools will begin offering COVID-19 rapid testing in extra care rooms. Rapid Testing for COVID-19 will only take place if a student is exhibiting symptoms and only with parent-guardian permission. If it is recommended a student take a rapid COVID-19 test at school, a parent-guardian will be contacted to discuss important details and gain permission. A consent form will need to be signed when the parent-guardian comes to pick up the student. Testing will be conducted by trained district nurses or health assistants. Student/family privacy will be prioritized during the testing process.

No habrá desayuno.

In West Linn-Wilsonville, our school lunches offer a complete selection of foods that students enjoy. The food we serve is made from wholesome, whole grain, low fat and low sodium ingredients, and fruits and vegetables are offered daily. Students are encouraged to come back for as many fruits and vegetables as they want, and many of the foods served in WLWV cafeterias are Oregon grown.
Our lunch and breakfast menus are constantly evolving as local foods are in season and the tastes of our students change. West Linn-Wilsonville schools frequently host tasting events in school cafeterias to introduce students to new and nutritious foods while giving students input into their cafeteria menu. We do our best to serve students quickly and always with a smile, and we appreciate our students' and families' help to keep lunch accounts current.
