Richmond Elementary November Update
Making a difference today to create a better tomorrow.
The Law of Beliefs
What Do You Believe?
According to Top Twenty authors, "The basic Law of Beliefs states that whatever we believe is real for us" (p. 49). What do you believe to be true? Do you believe that with goals and conviction, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to? Do you believe that ROCORI's Richmond Elementary Team is dedicated to overcoming obstacles along the path to your child's success? Do you believe in challenging yourself to become brighter, faster, stronger in setting the next goal? We know that if we believe we can and will succeed, we are far more likely to succeed in reaching our goals. Our overall theme this year at Richmond Elementary School is Believe. As we strive toward instilling a belief in our ability to achieve, I look forward to meeting you and working together to do what's best for our students. I believe that, similar to Dr. Seuss in Oh, the Places You Will Go, "Together we will move mountains!"
From the Office...
- Please remember to save Box Tops for Education, Richmond Food Pride receipts, and Teal's receipts. Richmond Elementary School will be getting a check for $1000 from Richmond Food Pride and 2% from Teal's for receipts collected through November. Your efforts are certainly appreciated!!
Also, a reminder to call or email when students will be tardy or absent, then to sign them in or out when picking up early or dropping off late.
Wednesday, November 8 is National Jeans For Troops Day, in honor of Veterans Day. Staff are encouraged to donate $5.00 to wear jeans this day. Students can also choose to (but are not required to) participate by donating $1.00 to wear jeans. Money goes to the GI GO Fund.

From Cindy Anderson, Utility Billing Clerk, City of Richmond: Blue Bike Program
As you all remember in 2015 we were all working hard on the Richmond Business Retention and Expansion program, meeting often, brainstorming on wonderful ideas and then working hard to try and make these ideas a reality.
One of the ideas was the blue bike program. I am very proud to say that we just completed our first summer with the bikes.
For 2 years, the committee worked to raise money to purchase the bikes, locks, keys and a bike shelter. Thank you to the businesses, groups and individuals who donated the funds.
2017 we had more than 265 bikes taken out, by people who live in the area, and as far away as New York City. From the Sign out sheet it appears only 2 tires had issues and all the bikes and keys were returned. YEAH!!
We also had an added bonus, the DNR put in a tire station within 10 feet of the bike rack.
I must say this was a real success of community, business and city working together to bring something wonderful to this community.
Thank you, Richmond, for making a difference today to create a better tomorrow!
