OSPI NEWS RELEASE: Students Will Not Take State Tests This Spring
Roosevelt Families—Because of distance and hybrid learning this year, your child will not take the Smarter Balanced Assessment, the state assessment that all students in Grades 3-5 usually take each spring. Also, our 5th-grade students will not take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science, which they usually take each May.
Here is the announcement from State Superintendent Chris Reykdal: "I have made the determination that Washington state will not administer the Smarter Balanced Assessments or the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science this spring. Instead, our assessment window for the 2020–21 school year will be in the fall." Read more here.
