Principal's Message
Dear Cougar Community,
Many thanks to those parents who participated in Parent/Teacher Conferences. As we navigate our way through Virtual Learning and plan for the transition to Hybrid Learning the many changes make communication between home and school critical for student success. This new normal is difficult for all of us as change can be hard. I appreciate your continued patience and support as we work to do our best to support choices that families are making in the best interest of their child(ren). It is only by working together that we can successfully meet the needs of everyone.
Next week we look forward to welcoming our PreK students back in a hybrid model. It will be wonderful to see more children back in the building as we continue our slow roll back to school. We are still on track and making plans to have all K-2 students return on December 8th in a hybrid model.
If your child ordered a yearbook last year I am happy to say they are finally here! Distribution of yearbooks will be on November 16th from 4:30 to 6:00. Please enter the parking lot by entering down Stephanie Street and through Cougar Court. GPS directions bring you to the opposite side of the building. We look forward to getting the books to those that ordered them.
Thanks to those of you who sent in pictures of your students learning! Keep them coming to ann.gwynn@mpark.net.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gwynn

Changes in Times for Food Distribution
Now you can pick up 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts at a time for your child(ren).
This drive-thru style pick-up will be held at FOUR locations every Monday.
9:00 – 11 am at Cougar Elementary via Cougar Court
11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the MP Community Center/Dog Park
1:30 - 2:30 pm at Sandstone Way & Manassas Drive
4:00 – 6:00 pm at Manassas Park Middle School
Meals are limited to one set of meals per child, per week.
Please note, the bus distribution sites that were utilized for the past two weeks WILL NO LONGER be used. Meals must be picked up on Mondays only. There are not enough personnel to staff all locations.
Proof of enrollment, or bringing a child(ren) to pick up, is required for parents to pick up meals. Proof of enrollment can include a student ID card, report card, or any other school communication containing the students name(s). If you need assistance with providing proof, the food services department can make an ID badge which you can use for future visits.
If your children are not school aged, our food services team will work with you to provide a proof should you wish to pick up without children in the future. Please talk to them during the pick-up time slots noted above.
We hope that replicating our Summer Feeding Program and adding an additional pick up location and window will permit more families to take advantage of this FREE service.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to serve as many people in our community as possible.
You Can Now Check-Out and Pick-up Library Books!
