Dolphin Digest
Weekly Update #9
Bathroom Murals
Week of Oct. 3rd
Dear WMES Families,
Happy Friday! A reminder that Friday, 9/30 is an Early Dismissal with a 12:20 p.m. dismissal. Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled in the afternoon. Teachers will reach out to parents for priority conferences, due to limited time slots.
We are excited to share that we received all seven badges of success for the 21-22 school year! The badges are digital and will be placed on our school website.
We are happy to welcome volunteers back for the 2022-2023 school year. Opportunities include helping in the classroom, shelving books in the library and helping with school events such as our Book Fair. Please email Kim Seidel if you are interested in volunteering at kseidel@talbotschools.org.
It is important that we keep dismissal routines the same so students know what to expect. If you need to make a bus change, a note must be sent into the school. Please be sure all notes include the child and teacher's name. When changes are made it certainly can create challenges, especially if the change occurs late in the day. Also, we can not make any transportation changes after 2:45 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.
Please be sure to send a note or email when your child is out or sick or absent. Doctor's notes are preferred, but each student is allowed 5 parent (sick) notes per semester (Q1 & Q2). Poor attendance negatively impacts your child's progress academically at school.
We are looking for parents, teachers and community members to nominate a WMES teacher for the Dedicated Dolphin Nomination form. Click on the link to submit a nomination during anytime of the year. Dedicated Dolphin Nomination Form
Wishing our Dolphin families a wonderful weekend! Get outside and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
Sincerely,
Kim Seidel, Proud WMES Principal
WCEI
Parents need to sign the children up via our website at ForeverMidShore.com (actual link is https://www.forevermidshore.com/weather-kids/), and then we reach out to them using the contact info they provide to set dates, etc. It should just be a lot of fun, and sound "cute" on the air!
Grandparent's Corner
The Grandparent's Club will be collecting recipes for our 2nd Edition Grandparent Club Cookbook. Soon several copies of the Recipe Collection Sheets will go home with students. You are welcome to put as many as you want. Have other family members write theirs down also. When complete, send back to school with your grandchild. Our next mtg. is October 11th @12:00, the Coffee Trappe. This is an important mtg. we will plan on shopping and filling our Thanksgiving Food Baskets.
The GPClub will meet at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Main Street in Trappe, Md. on October 5th. @10:00 to assemble Bag of Bucks.
You can always reach me-

2. Ensures all students have social skills needed for success at school and beyond.
3. Provides a proactive system-wide framework for implementation.
The purpose of PBIS is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm.
Check out our school-wide PBIS expectations and review these at home with your student. Classroom teachers are able to provide specific information about how your student is meeting the expectations.
