Senior Send Off GoFundMe
We're up to $1,862.00! Thank you so much to all of our donors! We still have a way to go. Please continue to share this link https://gofund.me/7929bd93 to help reach our fundraising goal in order to provide a meaningful and personal gift to each student in the Silver Oak Senior Class of 2021.
The Class of 2021 never envisioned their senior year to take place online. We have worked so hard to connect with them and continue to make our community feel whole. We want to do something for them that is tangible, thoughtful and something they can take with them to remember their teachers and faculty.
Please help us make this possible by considering donating as well sharing the following link:

Sexual Education for 10th and 12th Graders
Starting Wednesday April 14th through May 19th, sophomores and seniors through Wednesday advisory will be participating in comprehensive sexual health education provided by Planned Parenthood Mar Monte via live virtual webinar and self-guided learning through an online learning management system called Thinkific.
The California Healthy Youth Act requires that comprehensive sexual health education and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention education be taught to students at least once in middle school and once in high school, beginning no later than grade seven. Instruction and materials must be medically accurate, objective, age-appropriate and inclusive of all students, as defined by law. The law requires that instruction and materials must encourage students to communicate with parents, guardians or other trusted adults about human sexuality.
A brief pre/post assessment will be conducted at the beginning and end of the program. Questions will ask about sexual health and student confidence related to relationships and communication. All instructional materials and student assessment are available for review upon request. You may also request a copy of the California Healthy Youth Act (California Education Code sections 51930–51939) or visit https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/he/se/.
If you do not want your student to participate in comprehensive sexual health education, please contact your student’s advisor by 4/13/2021.

Chabot College Concurrent Enrollment Summer 2021
The concurrent enrollment application is now available for summer 2021. The deadline to apply is May 12th. To learn more about how to apply click here for directions. The steps include the instructions for 10th (9th graders are considered 10th graders by then) and 11th grade students(rising seniors in the summer).
We have included a recommended course list for high school students. The summer class schedule is still not updated on the Chabot website, but should appear soon.
Feel free to take concurrent enrollment summer courses at another community college. If you need additional information for a different campus, let me know.
I highly recommend for students to apply as soon as possible since the application process takes a sequence of steps to be completed. Also, if you encounter any issues with your application, you have time to contact the help desk and/or admissions office.
Current Seniors:
For summer, you'll be considered a high school graduate. If you are considering taking a summer course, simply apply for summer 2021 to the community college you applied as your community college choice you plan on attending for fall 2021.
