Instructional Focus:
My biggest take away from the conference was a a need to analyze our school's mission and vision. This will provide a baseline to make future decisions and allow for a more "laser-like" focus in our work. I am not trying to change the mission, we can keep it the same, but it's worth discussing and ensuring that everyone is "all in" in working towards a common goal.
The following TED Talk was mentioned at the PLC conference several times, and has caused me to do a lot of reflection. While I know the aforementioned video is addressing the business world, I think there are parts that are relevant to education. Check it out, and email me your reflections by Friday for a chance to win a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card.
Teacher/Support Staff of the Year
Plan to be there and celebrate our amazing staff members.
FYI...APEX is planning on telling students on Wednesday that they are going to dump slime on me if we hit a certain goal for the Fun Run. This assembly could also be when that happens.
Faculty Meeting Change...
We are changing the date to Tuesday, March 20 at 7:30. During this meeting we will be discussing AIMS Science and AzMERIT schedules and procedures.
All certified staff should be at this meeting.

Copy Machine Information....
To ensure we are making the best decisions on which machine to use, here are the prices to use each one:
- "Bertha" (the massive machine in the workroom)-24 sheets for one cent
- The color copier in the office- 2 sheets for one cent
Once you have your new laptops, you will be able to print to any machine on campus. Meaning you can be in your room, and select to print to "Bertha," it will remember the job (you can even input enough copies for your class/grade) until you can come down at specials. At specials you come down, put your employee number in, and it will copy everything for you.
Student Surveys...
These need to be administered, tallied, and reflected on. So long as you do the reflection, you get the full points on your evaluation. The data collection and reflection sheets are due in the office before leaving on Spring Break.
If you have any questions on this process or how it effects your evaluation, please see the attachment below.
Student Logo Vote...
Ultimately, I want Settler's Point to belong to our students, so I need their input on the new logo.
Before spring break, I need each homeroom teacher to show their class the two images that are below. Take a vote, and then send me the count.
