Where Champions Are Made
February 4th-8th is Counselor Appreciation Week. We are THANKFUL for our counselor, Mrs. Sumrall! She is always willing to provide support and guidance for our students. School counselors provide lessons for life!
As we continue into our second semester, we’d like to remind everyone about our process if your child needs to be signed out before dismissal. Our cut off time for early pick up is 2:20pm. After 2:20pm, we ask that your child go through the regular dismissal process or they can turn in a transportation change for the day before 2:00pm. Unfortunately, we cannot have any students up at the front office waiting for a parent to sign them out ahead of time due to the fact that they will be missing important instructional time. We appreciate your help and cooperation with this matter.
Spring Picture Day
- Stay home when you are sick. If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. You will help prevent others from catching your illness. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces or objects. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill.
At the bottom of the newsletter there are attachments with more information regarding the flu.
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to TIS! Students will have the opportunity to preview the fair with their ELA teacher. It will run from February 13th-21st from 7:00am to 3:30pm. We invite you to eat lunch with your student that week and visit the Book Fair during your student’s lunchtime. We will have extended hours on February 21st for Family Academic Night from 5:30pm-7:00pm. On February 22nd we will close the doors at 10:00am.
Today a reader, tomorrow a leader!!!
At our January PTO meeting, we started making plans for our Fun Run spring fundraiser. On Friday, March 29th, PTO will be hosting JUNGLE JOG 2019 on campus during the school day. We discussed how to continue to motivate our students to fundraise for their school. We looked at new individual fundraising prizes, continuing the limo ride for top students, & booking Tikiz Shaved Ice to come to field day. Flyers with details will start coming home in Wednesday folders. Also, watch for a SignUp.com link to be sent soon so that you can help us; we need lots of helpers this year.
NOTE: February 7th & March 7th will be our next two PTO Meetings. We need everyone's help to make Jungle Jog a fun success!
