SHS Weekly Newsletter #38

6/9/23

Message from Mr. Mitchell

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2023!

We are excited to celebrate all of our graduating seniors tonight, and would be remiss if we did not recognize all of the people who have supported these wonderful students along the way. A student's K-12 career is comprised of many teachers, many instructional assistants, many office staff, many custodians, many lunch staff, many administrators, and a multitude of supportive friends and family who have been there every day for these graduates. Thank you to all of you who have helped the class of 2023 be successful!

Have a great weekend, and Go Bowmen!

Mr. Mitchell

District Calendar

6/9 - Graduation

6/12&13 - Finals schedule

6/13 - Last day for all students

Finals Schedule

Big picture
Final exams are coming up on Monday, June 12th and Tuesday, June 13th. During finals, we do not send notes to students, ensuring that exams are interruption free. This means we will not dismiss students for appointments of any kind, and will not take deliveries of any kind for students. Help make sure your student/s are prepared with everything they need (notes, extra paper, calculators, final projects, lunch, etc.). Please help us in creating the optimum environment for Finals.

Health Room

Medications kept in the health room (prescription and non-prescription) need to be picked up on Tuesday 6/13 or Wednesday 6/14. Medications cannot be stored at school over the summer.

Activity Bus

Today is the final day the activity bus will run. Please make arrangements as needed for transportation starting next week for your students.

Library Check In

Before you come to return books next week, please check our destiny library catalog to find out what you have checked out, or past due. Follow the instructions below to see your check outs.

Yearbook Update and Distribution Timeline

This year an unprecedented number of yearbooks were ordered. To accommodate every order, there will be tiered distribution by grade, with some students receiving their yearbooks from a second shipment at a later date to be announced soon.

Senior distribution will occur first. All seniors that would like a yearbook will have the opportunity to get one, whether they pre-ordered or not. Once seniors have their yearbooks, distribution will start for other classes.

Pre-orders (books ordered before May 12) for juniors and sophomores will be fulfilled next after the seniors. Freshman who pre-ordered before May 12th will have the next priority as books from the first delivery are available.

Remaining freshman who pre-ordered, and additional orders placed after May 12, will be fulfilled from the second shipment coming at a later date, which could be by the end of this school year but possibly next fall.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this unprecedented interest in our Yearbook!

Distribution Dates

  • Seniors will pick up their books at lunch on June 1-2 (seniors can pay for and receive their book any time up to this date).
  • Juniors that pre-ordered before May 12 will pick up their books on June 5.
  • Sophomores that pre-ordered before May 12 will pick up their books on June 6.
  • Freshman who pre-ordered before May 12 will receive any remaining books, and can pick up on June 7.
  • All remaining freshmen pre-orders, and students who purchased after May 12th, will pick up their books on a date to be announced, based on the speed and shipping of the next round of yearbooks, which could be next fall.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this unprecendented circumstance.
