A MESSAGE FROM MR. LUCITA

Dear Jaguar Band Families,

Here we go with another wonderful week with the Jaguar Band!! This week sees us continuing to move forward with multiple events and groups preparing for performances and contests!

Starting this week we have our fist piano accompanist rehearsals for UIL Solo & Ensemble. The students have received a copy of the accompaniment schedule through email, and the schedules are additionally posted throughout the band hall. Please make sure that if you or your student are performing at UIL Solo & Ensemble, you are prepared musically and are on time when the accompaniment starts. The accompanists are scheduled to be at Johnson High School for very specific dates and times which means there is no opportunity to reschedule or make up missed times.

The Johnson Winter Guard is continuing to put in the hard work needed to be successful! Both the Varsity and Non-Varsity guards are improving with every rehearsal, and we can’t wait to see them in their first performance!! Check the Jaguar Band Calendar for those dates and locations.

If you or your child is a percussionist, we are excited to announce that the Jaguar Percussion Camps are starting this week. These camps are for all percussionists who are currently in grades 8, 9, 10 & 11. This is the time that the students get to experience all of the percussion that High School Band has to offer. It also starts the process for determining what instrument each student will play in the marching band this fall!

Wind Ensemble continues their Tuesday 5 - 7 p.m. rehearsals this week. We had a great rehearsal last week and need to continue this same level of rehearsal as we continue to select and prepare the music for UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. Make sure you or your student are seated and ready to go with music, pencil, mutes and everything needed for a great rehearsal at 5 p.m. sharp on Tuesday!!

Finally, just as stated last week, we need to start spreading the word about how great the Jag Band is and that we want all of our existing members and our rising 8th graders to make sure band is on their schedule! We want our band family to continue to grow and expand!!

Have a great week and GO JAGS!!

Have a great week!

Mr. Lucita

Band Sponsorships and opportunity to put Student names on trailer!

The Johnson Jaguar Band depends in large part on the fundraising efforts of the Band Boosters. Sponsorships are a very important part of fundraising. Our Sponsorship levels have been updated, and we have a lot of exciting options for businesses AND families! We ask that every family please share this brochure with anyone you know that has a business. We are eager to help promote businesses in our community that support the Jaguar Band! If you would like color copies of our Sponsorship Brochure, we are happy to provide them.

A new addition to our Sponsorship options is the Friends and Family Level. This level offers various options for businesses as well as an option for band families: For $200, you can have your child’s name and graduation year on our band trailer indefinitely with the option to simultaneously add sibling name for an additional $100.

Details of all Sponsorship Options can be found at https://www.johnsonbands.com/sponsorships.

Thank you for your support of the Johnson Jaguar Band!
