State testing letter coming home today

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Last spring, students throughout the state of Michigan in grades 3-8 and 11 took the state’s required assessments M-STEP, MiAccess and MME (includes PSAT and SAT). These assessments are designed to require students to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Many of the subject area tests also require students to write responses and show their work, instead of merely selecting a multiple choice response.

Today, your student will bring home the Parent Report from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) which includes your student’s scores on the 2022 State Testing. The letter will explain the results and additional information and test results can be found on the Michigan Department of Education’s website at
