School districts across the state are permitted to use remote learning days in their school calendars to continue the educational process should all 5 accrued instructional time (AIT) days be used up (often used for inclement weather), or in unique situations when a specific school might need to close for a short-term situation such as lack of heat, air conditioning, etc.

It is important to us that our students and staff are prepared for a quick move to the remote learning environment. To assist our staff, students and families be prepared, BCS students will receive "remote learning practice' this Friday, December 16th, in their schools and classrooms to prepare for days that may require district-wide or school specific remote learning days.

Please note that this "practice" may vary across our schools. The goal of this established practice time is to be sure our students and staff know what is expected from each other and how to access the platforms and resources needed to be successful on a remote learning day.

My sincere appreciation to our school leadership teams and staff for being prepared to share this practice time with our students in our schools this Friday. In advance, I want to thank our students for their cooperation and participation so that all of us are prepared for a remote learning day should it be needed throughout the school year.
