Dive in2 Twitter
Connect with educators in our area and around the world!

Getting Started
1. Go to Twitter.com and sign up for Twitter.
2. After entering your name and email, you'll need to create a username. Your username will be how other educators see you on Twitter. Try to avoid the FirstnameLastname1234 naming pattern, even if Twitter suggests it. Create a username that is meaningful to you. Maybe try your last name, your mascot and grade level. If you already have a website or a favorite name for your students, you may want to use that. Also, try to make sure it's not too long. It's hard to tag a name like @MrsWinstonsFabulousFairfieldThirdgraders in a tweet because there are sooooo many characters in that username!
Take control of what you see on Twitter by following educators on your new professional Twitter account.

A few tips when getting started with Twitter
- Be sure to upload a professional picture, don’t keep the silhouette! If you have to use a picture of your school logo or mascot, that will still be better than not changing the picture at all. A picture of yourself is more personal and makes it easier to connect to others.
- Then, add the Twitter app to your phone or mobile device so you are ready to capture the great things happening at your school and share them.
- Don't forget the hashtag! Add #RPSPLN to the end of all your tweets so we know you are participating and so other participants can follow you!
