Is there really a health benefit in diet sodas than just regular sodas? As a matter of fact, there isn't any. Although diet sodas may have reduced calories or sugars, a majority of people all around the world think of diet sodas as healthy when they really aren't. Sodas and Diet sodas can both lead to diabetes, heart attack, stroke and cancer because of the amount of caffeine and sugar consumed in just 1 can. There have been many studies on the negative health effects on both regular and diet soft drinks.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS: Pasito is a regular soda with no reduced calories or sugars. Scientists around the world have studied the effects of soft drink consumption. People that are drinking these particular drinks are often drinking less milk which is affecting their calcium intake and other nutrients. Milk helps your bones grow and helps develop strong teeth. Soft drink increases the level of obesity in many countries. People who have a good diet consume a healthy amount of calories but because of the high calorie rate in soft drinks people who drink soft drink often have too many calories.

While it might be tempting to pick up a bottle of Diet Coke, you should think 'is it really benefitting your health?' Although Diet Coke has less sugar and therefore less calories, it's filled with artificial sweetener. Some examples of these sweeteners are aspartame, cyclamate, saccharin. The artificial sweeteners found in Diet Coke doesn't help you lose weight. In fact it actually makes you gain weight because this particular source of food is not a natural sugar.
