Hi Folks - I would like to thank all the band members for some great work the past couple of weeks with the band show. We continue with Thursday night rehearsals from 6-8:30pm. Please note the slight time change. We will be rehearsing at the middle school through August 25th.

There will be a band booster meeting this Tuesday night at 6:30pm. Please see the information below regarding the meeting. Please take a look at some needed items for our first few football games as well as the practice schedule for the next few weeks. Items Needed for Marching Band

We will most likely not be wearing the actual band uniforms for the first couple of weeks due to the heat. Therefore, the band students need the following:


1. A Pair of Khaki shorts. (Please make sure the length is appropriate for school)

2. The Field Show T-shirt (Provided by the band boosters)

3. ELCO band baseball cap (Provided by the band boosters)

4. A pair of sneakers.

Dinkle Shoes and Gloves

Band members are required to purchase a pair of Dinkle marching shoes and a pair of long wristed black gloves to wear with the band uniform. Student band accounts can be used to purchase these. Orders are due by the August 18th rehearsal. You will be able to try dinkles on at the next two rehearsals so you are sure to get the right size. Please fill out the attached form and submit with payment. Checks should be made payable to ELCO BAND BOOSTERS. You may want to consider getting two pairs of gloves. These tend to go missing more than any other part of the uniform.

Band Camp Contest Winners

Congratulations to Kalyn Baker and Emma Kimmel who won our two annual band camp contests. Kalyn Baker is a repeat champion in the Gatorade challenge. Kalyn was able to march 60 yards rather quickly without dropping the Gatorade bottle off of her head.


Emma Kimmel was the victor in the annual crash and burn march-off contest held on Friday morning of band camp. She demonstrated her ability to react quickly to commands being given.

This Tuesday at 6:30pm, the band boosters will be having a meeting via zoom. The band boosters are an integral part of the band program here at ELCO. Any help is greatly appreciated. The boosters provide your children with an incredible amount of items throughout the season, including field show T-Shirts, hats, meals, snacks, and more. If you have a child in the Raider Marching Band, you are automatically a member of this organization. I encourage every parent to participate with at least one or two events throughout the season.
