John Brophy - Retail
No sector has felt the brunt of the recession like the retail sector. John has certainly been here before. He has a lifetime of experience working in the retail sector during its most successful times and during its most difficult. Experience can’t be bought; but it can be learned from. John is the incoming President of Co Carlow Chamber. John is also the Chairman of the association of Shopping Centre Managers and is the Irish representative on the British Council of Shopping Centres
Ashling Ward - HR
Ashling has worked in Human Resources and Training for the past 17 years, both in private and public companies . Her particular interests are in managing people and building skills capacity in companies to help them perform to their best ability. Ashling also sits on interview panels for local companies to help them choose the right candidates for positions available. She also works with staff on time management and performance reviews.
Mike Moore - Marketing
Currently employed as Group Commercial Manager in The Nationalist, Mike previously worked in sales and marketing roles with Erin Foods, CateringBuyer.com and a subsidiary of An Post. Mike has particular expertise in growing revenue in business to business companies in Irish and overseas markets. He holds a BSc in Marketing from T.C.D., an MBS from T.C.D. and a Diploma in Sales Coaching from the Sales Institute of Ireland.

Martin Carrigan - Accounting & Taxation
Martin founded the firm Carrigan Chartered Accountants in 2006 and comes with impressive qualifications and experience. Martin became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland in 2001 and sub sequentially completed a masters in Accountancy in DCU and B.Comm., in UCD. Martin commenced his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dublin where he spent a number of years gaining valuable experience in the areas of Business Recovery & Turnaround, company audit and taxation, rising rapidly to the position of assistant manager. Martin specialises in business advisory services to the retail, pharmaceutical and the hospitality sectors. Martin is the current treasurer of the County Carlow Chamber of Commerce.

Life Long Learning 8.15pm Joe Colllins
Get up to speed on the possibilities Carlow IT's Lifelong Learning Programme provides for adults to upgrade their skills and qualifications. Accredited courses are offered in the areas of business, computing, science, engineering and humanities.
Customised programmes for industry are also available.
Brian Ogilvie
Brian Ogilvie is External Services Manager with IT Carlow where he is responsible for the business development planning and management of the Institute’s research programmes, incubation centres and specialised training programmes for entrepreneurs and start-up companies.
His areas of interest include product innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic management.
Before joining IT Carlow, Brian was involved in managing many new product development projects for SMEs and multinationals in the food industry.
He holds a BSc degree from NUIG, MSc in Technology Management from UCD and MBA from Smurfit Graduate Business School.
Joe Collins
Joe Collins is Head of Lifelong Learning at IT Carlow.
He holds a BA Hons from NUI Maynooth, H.Dip from UCD, STB from Gregorian University, M.Ed from DCU and STL from Angelicum University.
