What is going on?
Reading: This week the students will identify functions of our government, roles of public officials, and governmental services in our community. We will also learn about how we pay taxes and what those funds are used for in our community.
Writing: We will be discussing theme. We will write a personal narrative or realistic fiction story with a specific theme.
Spelling and Grammar:
Spelling words this week: ate,dog, full, happy, know, old, sing
In grammar we will learn about homophones.
Science: This week we are diving into the basic needs of plants. Our focus will be the function of each plant part and how small plants will grow up to look like their “parent” plant.
Math: We will take a week off from financial literacy and review for the math benchmark. This week we will use games and fun activities to review this year’s math concepts!
Science Supplies Needed:
potting soil (small bag)
clear plastic cups

May 4: Last week for book checkout
May 9: Field Trip (Information to come)- If your child wants to order a sack lunch that day. Please email me. The order is due this Wed.
May 14: All library books DUE
May 29: Last Student Day (*Note change* Due to Bad weather make up)
All School Assembly tomorrow showcasing the Lion King. Please have the kids drop off the backpacks on the porch tomorrow morning.
Field Trip Permission Slips were due on Wed. Please turn them in so I can wrap up the paperwork. Thank you!
