ST MATH for Beginning of the Year

Just a few reminders

Grades K-4

ST Math makes a difference here at Hudson ISD. The following information gives an idea of their background as a company and the research that went into the creation of ST Math ... Jiji.

Instructionally, any subject or concept that is presented to a child in a format that engages their attention is perceived as nonthreatening. Jiji is simply a game in some instances. Connections are made they learn new concepts throughout the year.

Welcome to the Mind Research Institutes, ST Math and JiJi.

Password for New Staff

Your password is sent to new teachers in an email from ST Math Mind Research Institute. Normally, they send them in July or August. It is detailed in what you are to do. Keep this password in a safe place. Check SPAM if it is not in your direct email. Passwords are used frequently in this program.

Create Your Class for this Year

ALL TEACHERS: Even if you have used the program for years, we still have to open a new account for the new school year. ST MATH closes your account in July of each year so you can begin fresh with your new classes. Go into the Teacher Portal using your password and create your class. Some teachers, including the new teachers, have already done this part of the program. If not, I will be available the last week of August to help you create your account and get started with ST Math/JiJi.

1-4 STUDENTS: When former ST MATH students begin the year, they simply sit down and type in their old password. Teachers have to make their classes before a student can be linked in the new year. Sometimes it may take a few tries. Tap 3 times in the corner with your curser and link them to your class once they get logged in. You can have several on the computers/iPads at one time trying to log in. Link all of them at once. Note: Computers work better for this process.

How do I add a brand new Hudson ISD student to ST Math & link all my kids to my groups?

Adding students to ST MATH takes about 10 minutes and should be done during the station time. Students will need 20 minutes of uninterrupted time to learn their new password. If they used ST Math in another school, we can link that school to ours and the child does not have to start all over.

SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT: All students, every year, have to be linked to you, the new teacher! If you skip this part, their scores do not get recorded! It makes them very upset! Watch the entire video.

TIP: I have as many as possible sit down and type in their password and then I link all of them at once to my account so I don't have to do it one student at a time. If they don't know their password, send me their names or Renea Bufkin and we will transfer them to your class and you can retrain. Let them try several times, they often remember.

Oh No! They can't remember the password! What do I do now? (Retrain, too.)

Do not start a new account. Let Mrs. Bufkin or me know if they can't remember their password in grades 1-4. We will need their full name and their former teacher's name. We can transfer them to your class. Then you must retrain.

See the video below for returning students that can't remember their passwords! Have your password handy.

Reorder your curriculum before students begin!

If you need to reorder your curriculum, please do so. You can reorder at any time, but it will stop the student and put him on a different game. They really don't like this type of interruption. JiJi is serious business.

Do this first before they login and begin.

Challenge is always last.
