SMART Family Literacy

Students planted tomatoes and peppers in their new vegetable garden at Parker Elementary School. Before the end of the school year, students will be able to grind these ingredients into salsa after harvesting. When students plant, grow, and harvest their own vegetables, they are more likely to eat them. Encouraging students to make healthy snack choices helps to combat the rate of childhood obesity.
