What We Are Doing This Week
Reading:
This week we will be reading the wonderful book "Turk and Runt". It is a book about the turkey's point of view on Thanksgiving
Monday: We will be discussing and writing about why people would be visiting Wishbone Farm. (This is where the turkeys, Turk and Runt live). We will also be synthesizing (starting with the little picture until we see the whole big picture).
Tuesday: We will be reviewing adjectives by using them to describe Turk and Runt, and then writing a sentence using adjectives.
Wednesday: Putting words in ABC order
Thursday: We will be answering questions over our story.
Friday: Fun Thanksgiving activities
Phonics:
Lesson 42 Final, Stable Syllable -ble
Lesson 43 Final, Stable Syllables -dle, -fle, -gle, -ple, -tle
Lesson 44 Compound Words
Writing:
We will continue to work on our personal narrative.
Grammar:
We will start discussing and identifying homographs. These are words that have multiple meanings. (wave - the ocean waves or someone waves at you)
Also we will learning strategies for determining the meaning of unknown words. (#1 A Synonym; #2 An Antonym; #3 A Definition; #4 An Example)
