WDLC Micro-Course
This micro-course will help you design learning experiences for student success. The anchor resource to help you along the way is the “jobs-to-be-done theory,” a set of principles that Professor Clayton M. Christensen of Harvard Business School used to teach designers how to create solutions that their customers want to “hire” to help them make progress in their lives. We’ll use that theory in this micro-course to explore how to create online learning experiences that students feel intrinsically motivated to hire in their own lives.
Your course facilitator will be available for questions asynchronously. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect via Zoom for live forum discussions during every stage of the innovation cycle (see Format section for more info). These forums will be guided by your course facilitator.
Learning Targets: Participants will...
- Implement one key element of student-centered online or blended learning over a 6-8 week innovation cycle around the stages of the ADDIE Model (Analyze, Design/Develop, Implement and Evaluate)
- Provide regular opportunities for students to feel successful—to make progress and accomplish something.
- Include abundant elements in the student experience for students to have fun with friends—to cultivate new friendships or strengthen existing ones.
