BMHS/BMMS Titans Library Review

END OF YEAR REPORT

BMHS/BMMS End of Year Report

This was a very busy year at both BMHS and BMMS Library Media Centers. We did over 500+ trainings in the high school Makerspace teaching students how to use all the fabulous tools available to them. Many teachers were able to embed within their curriculum some exciting Makerspace activities including English 3 button making with the book Tuesdays with Morrie, English 2 button making with To Kill a Mockingbird, Art classes utilizing the 3D printing, embroidery and Cricut cutting machines to create artwork. During Lunch & Learn, students took advantage of this time to create products like mugs using sublimation, and embroidering their clothing with their own designs.

At the middle school, we had two very successful Scholastic Book Fairs netting more than $22, 377.00. The Scholastic Book Fairs have resulted in 6,372 books for BMMS Library. In addition, we continued with the author of the month featuring over 9 authors this year online and display. The library hosted several team programs including the kite building and monopoly tournaments. Students had fun making buttons with the button maker and will likely enjoy the new tools they will have access to next year in the Makerspace.

It has been my honor to be your librarian/media specialist for the past two years at both BMHS and BMMS. I wish everyone a safe and happy summer and will be hoping you all have a great school year in 22/23.

CCPL Teen Librarians Visits in May
