Relay for Life Lesson

Rain did not dampen the big smiles seen by 8th and 9th graders from around the District at Relay for Life on Saturday. In fact, it served as a metaphor teaching us what it means to keep going despite challenges. Eighth grader, Madisson R., reflected:

"Overall, I think this is one of the best years yet because this year’s weather for Relay for Life was rainy and yucky. To others, it was a miserable day, but to me, it showed and represented cancer itself. We were possibly cancelling Relay for Life but we didn’t and we made it through, like cancer survivors making it through. We didn’t give up on achieving what we wanted and neither do the cancer survivors. The weather was horrible but we kept on trudging and we were tough, just like cancer survivors are. Relay for Life this year showed us what life is about and how horrible and difficult cancer can be."

We are proud to share that Tamanend raised at least $25,771 this year!

Lacrosse Champs! Tamanend and Unami Together

Big picture

Ryan M. (8th) and Will R. (7th) represented Tamanend on the combined Unami/Tamanend Lacrosse team. The team went into the playoffs in 1st place with a 6-1 record. They took the championship yesterday against Lenape with a 9-8 win! The "UTami" team was seamless as they worked together. Congratulations to the team on a winning season!

6th Grade Orientation

On Wednesday, we welcomed 280 6th graders to talk about all they have to look forward to at Tamanend Middle School. Our students and staff did an excellent job sharing their love of Tamanend Together, what is meant by RoAR, and how the words IF-YET-TRUST will guide them to success at Tamanend and through life. We thank Mr. Jeff Klein and Mrs. Mandy Cammann for planning the special day and everyone else who contributed, especially our awesome Tiger!
