A Few Things ...
Conference Time
Conferences are next week, October 25th and 26th. You should have received a scheduled time from your child's teacher. If not, please send them a DOJO message or call the office. You will have the option to meet in person, over the phone, or on ZOOM.
We are asking that children remain at home during conferences unless requested by the teacher. This limits our numbers in the building (reducing potential for germs) and provides a more focused environment for adults to discuss student progress.
WCSD #1 Survey
The Weston County School District #1 Board of Trustees wants to hear from you! They are conducting a survey to gather information about what is going well in the district and what could be improved. The survey has been shared on the district website and FB page. Computers and hard copies will also be available at conferences. Please that a few minutes to share your input:
Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will be open starting next week! It will be open during normal school hours and during conferences on the 25th and 26th. Students have had an opportunity to look at books and make wish lists. They can make purchases before school, during the their library time, or briefly after school. You can send money with your child or utilize the e-wallet program. We ask that adults wait to come to Book Fair during conference times. You are encouraged to bring the "wish list" your child made in school with you since we are asking children not come to conferences.
Halloween
NES will be celebrating Halloween on Thursday the 28th. You should be receiving information from your child's teacher regarding the activities for specific grade levels. To help ensure the safety of all students, we will not be allowing visitors for the parade or parties, but watch for pictures! Students will be allowed to wear their costumes for the day. Please make sure they are school appropriate.
Good Citizen
Each month at NES, we are able to award three students from grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th with the Good Citizen Award. This award is given to students who display the traits of a good citizen by being kind, responsible, hard working, trustworthy, fair, and respectful. Winners receive a t-shirt, a write up of their accomplishments, and a certificate. Their picture is published in the Newsletter Journal and they get their picture posted on a bulletin board. This award is sponsored by American Legion and Weston County Health Services.
The October Good Citizens are: McCall Benson, Roman Diaz, and Kellan Hespe.
As always, please give me a call if you have questions, concerns, or ideas.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
