Make Positive Impressions
- Stand up straight
- Make eye contact
- Be kind and courteous
- Arrive early each day
- Be clean
- Do not display tattoos
People and Communication
- Make an effort to learn peoples names' quickly
- Return calls and emails within 24 hours
- Emails should be grammatically correct
- Self-assess
- Respect people's personal space
- Be helpful and co-operative
Meetings
- Do not leave meetings until they are closed by the chairman
- Be on time
- Do not interrupt people
- Dress appropriately
- Don't chew gum
- Be respectful and act with honesty and dignity
- Always attend meetings even if you arrive late
Work Space
- Keep your work space professional and neat
- Respect others spaces'
- Don't interrupt people on the phone
- Limit personal calls
- Regulate food consumption; sounds and smells can be distracting
- Don't borrow from other co-workers desks'
International Business Etiquette
- Know the language of the people you are working with
- Be mindful of time zones
- Know the mealtime etiquette of the people you're doing business with
- Respect the holidays of the people you'll be working with
