from the principal
Dear Families
Term Three promises to be full of excitement for all our learners.
Camps
Year Five have been on camp this week and enjoyed some chilly nights but beautiful days. Their ride on Puffing Billy was a highlight.
Our staff do an amazing job during camps. We certainly appreciate their commitment and extend our gratitude for giving up their own family time for a few nights to care for the children in their class. Camp gives our children a wonderful experience to develop some independence and build great relationships with peers and teachers.
Years three and four students will soon experience their second camp which we know will be heaps of fun.
Playground
Our yard is a fun place to be, at the moment. We have a knew game called Frisby Golf where we all can test out our frisby throwing accuracy skills. The bicycles and scooters around our walking/riding/running track are engaging many children. The sports shed has some new equipment to be borrowed and lots of staff in the yard playing with the kids is popular.
We want our children in the yard to be engaged in outdoor activities with their friends and develop healthy bodies and mindsets.
Enrolment
We are having many visitors to our school at the moment. Families with preschool children are taking tours. If you know of any family who has a pre-schooler please encourage them to visit us.
Also, if you have a pre-schooler at home who you intend sending to Bourchier next year we would appreciate your completed enrolment form as soon as possible. Our transition Program commences on Friday 19 August 2022.
Masks
Just a reminder about the wearing of masks. DET has an expectation that we all wear masks indoors at school. We cannot mandate this but we certainly appreciate your cooperation by encouraging your child to wear one. Please send a mask to school with them each day.
We have had many children absent and several staff away due to COVID, flu and gastro. We hope mask wearing will help keep us all healthy and well so that we have everyone here at school.
The coffee Van visits our school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings if you would like a coffee or hot chocolate feel free to join the que.
Kind regards
Denise

reporting covid positive
Reminders
Monitor closely for symptoms. Children must stay home and get tested if showing symptoms. If test positive, isolate for 7 days until negative. Notify the school that your child has tested positive.Test twice a week during school time.
We need everyone healthy and fit so that learning at school can continue. We all know what remote learning is like and we dont want to go back to that.
Please talk to your children about the importance of mask wearing and please send a mask each day to school with your child. Our junior school children are not required to wear a mask but we certainly encourage it if they are comfortable to do so.
If your child is a household contact they must take 5 rapid antigen tests (RATs) over 7 days and receive negative test results and wear a face mask (if over 8 years old) in indoor spaces.
Children who have had COVID do not need to test for 30 days after isolation has ended..
If your child tests positive please register this on COVID Test Portal or call the school to inform us and we will register for you. Please do not register negative results.
Please consider getting your child vaccinated if you have not already done so.
