Veterans' Day at Arctic Light
This Friday, your soldier is invited to our
school Veterans' Day Celebration: Hot Dogs for Heroes.
Come by Arctic Light starting at 11:30am for a hot dog lunch with your student. Most of our classrooms will have unique events and a special video is being made to honor our soldiers.
Don't forget cars with a "K Pass" can park in our back loop.
For many of us, we have generations of Veterans. This holiday provides us time to reflect on their lives and what their service means for us. Personally, I grew up with stories from my family members that went back years. These are important stories that reflect commitment, service and so much more.
Have you taken the time to share your experience with your child? There are too few moments when our children are open and ready to listen to our stories. Veterans' Day can provide that structure.
Do share your stories and
a picture for our Veterans' Wall.
See you soon.
November 9th - Early Out & November 12 - No School

Student Perspective
I Live In a Different World - by Logan Shoemaker
Have you ever thought you lived in a different world than your parents? Or did they ever think that? These are questions many children ask themselves. Well today for your newsletter article I will be talking about this subject.
First off let's see what this actually means. So when we say this we actually mean that they're still stuck in the past. So when you think this you probably say to yourself, “Man they are just stuck in the past” or something like that. Well they might feel somewhat the same way. So invite each other to your different worlds and maybe you'll figure it out. That you all live in the same world.
Just different times.

Meet our new MFLC Mrs. Leslie!
One of the many services our MFLC is trained to understand is the unique challenges faced by our military families, particularly during this time of war(s), the Department of Defense is providing professional licensed counseling staff for non-medical counseling service members and their families. MFLC services are ancillary services that work alongside and in conjunction with the school guidance counselor. Mrs. Leslie will be sending a form home with all students to be signed and returned if you would like your student to receive MFLC support in our school.
