Happy December! Our students and staff have been busy decorating our halls with festive cheer and we are excited about the upcoming fun activities this month! Don't forget our theme days this week:
Tuesday-Mistletoe Madness (wear RED and GREEN)
Wednesday-Pajama Day (no slippers please)
Thursday- Jingle all the Way (wear jingle bells).
We are SO proud of the growth our students have shown on their mid-year, ELA diagnostic in i-Ready this past week! Keep an eye out for some celebratory posts and events!
Westside Elementary is looking for one more parent to represent our school in providing valuable educational and community focused information, As a representative, you will participate in three meetings as listed below. *All meetings are held in the Boardroom from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. February 18, 2022, March 25, 2022, and April 22, 2022.* Please email Mrs. Woodbury if you are interested at the contact info below.

Notification to Parents of Out of Field Teachers
In compliance with The Elementary and Secondary Education Act Sec. 1112(e)(1)(B)(ii) and Florida law 1012.42, Westside Elementary is required to notify families when a teacher is classified as out of field for the subject matter and grade level they have been assigned to. Brevard Public Schools is committed to providing the highest quality education to its students by hiring effective and skilled teachers. The teachers listed below are licensed to teach in the State of Florida and are currently working to meet full certification and licensure requirements.

Parent & Family Engagement Plan Update
Westside’s Parent and Family Engagement Plan (PFEP) is available to view on our school website. Families can also request a copy and/or can view the copy that is readily available upon request in the front office. Please direct any questions regarding the Parent and Family Engagement Plan to Ms. Johnston at 956-5050 ext. 52822. This plan is developed after seeking input from families during school events, SAC meetings, and the Title One Annual Meeting. If you would like to provide input for future PFEPs, please attend these meetings. For translation assistance, please contact our ESOL coordinator, Mrs. Cruz-Martinez at 956-5050 ext. 52858.
