Advisory Attendance Challenge
Vikan Advisory classes lets have some fun!
We are having an attendance challenge for 2 weeks, Tuesday, Feb. 2 through Friday, Feb. 12.
The winning Advisory class will be determined by which class has the highest percentage of students in attendance. Attendance will only be tracked for the morning Advisory class.
Face to Face winning class will choose from pizza, root beer float, or popcorn party and choice of movie.
Remote winning class will have the opportunity to decide what they would like as their prize.
Virtual Dance Party
Students come join us for Vikan's virtual Valentine's Day dance party on Friday, February 12th from 5-6:30pm. Groove to some music, win some prizes, play some games, and dress up in red, white, and pink. The dance is open to all grade levels. Join our Google Classroom for Google Meet links and other information using the code "zyikxds". Hope to see you there! See attached flyer for more information.
CHROMEBOOK Help!
If your student is having technology issues please have them submit a ticket through their GRADE LEVEL google classroom. Once we are aware of the issue a VIKAN staff member will be in contact with your student regarding the next steps which may include you having to stop by VIKAN for troubleshooting or to exchange your student’s Chromebook.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS
ATTENDANCE is taken on synchronous (live instruction) days with multiple phone calls going out until you have called and confirmed his/her absence. To report your student’s absence please call our attendance line at 303-655-4056. Attendance is required for all students.
If your student has COVID symptoms, please complete the google form sent to you in the Health Screener email each day.
Elective classes are online on synchronous days (live instruction) and start at 8:00 a.m. and then core classes start at 10:00 a.m.

In an effort to keep all student information current and up to date, we would like to ask you to log in to your Infinite Campus account and review address, phone numbers, emergency contact information, etc. If any information needs to be changed or updated please request the changes and email Elva Olivas at elvaolivas@sd27j.net with updated information. If you have a change of address we will need proof of address from you. A lease/rent contract or utility bill.

STUDENT HEALTH SCREENER
We want to continue to be able to stay safe and teach students in our building and ask that you please follow the guidelines set by Tri-County Health Department.
Please ensure your students are keeping safe by doing the following:
1. Not sending your student to school ill- If your student is not feeling well, please fill out the google form emailed to you each morning and keep them home. ONLY fill out the google form if your student is having symptoms, have a pending COVID 19 test or has been exposed to someone with COVID 19.
2. Wearing a mask and social distancing from others during school and outside of school. Remind them about the proper way to wear a mask.
3. Ensure your students bring their ID to school with them every day with the correct color lanyard. We use the lanyards as a way to identify student cohort groups and to keep possible contacts to a minimum. Replacement ID’s are $5.00 and Lanyards are $2.00.

RESOURCES
Students may order meals on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings before 11:00 a.m. through their Google Classroom. Your student will then pick up the meals at the end of the day by their assigned exit door

Students (or a family member) will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch meals for the week. Pickup will be Tuesdays between 11:00 AM and 1 PM at Prairie View High School or Brighton High School
Families must complete the Drive Through Grab N' GO Online Learning Meal Order Form (Spanish Form Here) each week for each student that would like to have meals. The deadline to order meals will be 3 PM every Monday.
New Immunization Requirements for the 2021-2022 School Year
Please click on the link below to view the letter from the Colorado Health Department regarding changes to the immunization requirements for school aged children K through 12th grade. These requirements will go into effect in the 2021-2022 school year.
