A message from Mr. Brown:

Happy New Year Huskies!

Starting a new year is always such a positive and powerful time of the year as we make resolutions and set goals to make improvements in our lives. I am sure many of you have had those conversations in your homes as you prepared for 2022. If you haven’t had those conversations with your students about goals, I encourage you to do so this weekend. Now is a great time to set goals around how many minutes (or books) your children can read a day, and how many times to practice math fact fluency. It is also a great time to reset with daily routines such as bedtimes and getting to school on time. January is also the perfect time to try new things or practice the Husky Habit of the Month: willingness to take risks.

Last year I discussed with you my Word of the Year: Focus. I talked about how that word should be a guide that keeps you positive, happy and motivated to make yourself better. This year my word is Challenge- I look forward to challenging myself to be the best for your students at CSES and for my family at home. I also look forward to challenging others to be the best they can be for your children. Again, I encourage you to find that word that empowers you in 2022, as we empower each child to design their future. I’d love for our students to share their word with me, so please encourage your child to talk to me about their choice at some point soon!

This month we will kick off our Boosterthon fundraiser and we will participate in the FunRun in early February. This is such an awesome event for our students and a great way to support our school.

As we continue through January I hope you stay well. It is also my hope that we are able to go back to the moderate spread protocols and students can return to a more “normal” school day each day. Thank you for sharing your children with us- they truly make our day each day!

Happy New Year!

Todd C. Brown

CSES Principal
