Happy New Year North Pointe Families!

I hope everyone had an amazing winter break celebrating Christmas and New Year's! The last two weeks have FLOWN by and it's back to school TOMORROW! I'm sure all the parents are saying AMEN to that! :) I cannot wait to see everyone Tuesday morning as we head into the second half of an amazing school year!

SURPRISE!

I have some pretty awesome news to share...

If you have a lunch balance at North Pointe, it has been wiped to ZERO! A very special friend of mine has made a generous donation to make all lunch accounts current.

Happy NEW YEAR!

Magnet Applications Open January 2nd!

This year, the magnet process will begin on January 2nd and end on February 5th. The magnet process is only applicable at the elementary levels and Southwood Middle.

If you are a current magnet student at North Pointe, you MUST reapply each year in order to remain at the school. For NEW students applying to North Pointe, acceptance is based on the number of available seats at each grade-level.

To apply online, visit the Anderson Five webpage at www.anderson5.net. The application process will be posted on the morning of January 2nd. The school will also have paper applications available. Mailing directions are provided on the paper application, as they must be mailed or hand-delivered.

SIBLING RULE: Non-magnet siblings of magnet students may apply to automatically attend their brother or sister's magnet school, pending space availability.

SELECTION PROCESS: Students are not accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are more applications than available seats, students will be selected by a lottery number.

Parents will be notified of acceptance into a magnet school by letter. If selected, the letter will also include a commitment form. Commitment forms will be due back by the date listed on the letter.

Parents of magnet students are responsible for all transportation to and from school.

Magnet students may be dropped from enrollment for continuous attendance, tardiness, and/or behavior concerns.

Congrats to Mrs. Hammett on receiving an equipment grant from US Lacrosse! This spring, 3rd - 5th grade students will learn to play lacrosse during their PE time. Thank you to Mrs. Hammett for going the extra mile for North Pointe students!
