The Indian Ocean Tsunami happened in 2004 in Thailand. It occurred on December 26, and it was huge. It killed about 230,000 people in 14 countries. There were waves up to 30 meteres or 100ft high. It was one of deadliest natural disasters in recorded history. It had a 9.0 magnitude quake. It traveled as far as 3,000 miles to Africa and still arrived with sufficient force to kill people and destroy property.
