Modern Dance
by Carolyn Brass
What is modern dance?
Modern dance is a dance style that is concentrated on a dancer's own interpretations instead of controlled steps. This dance encourages dancers to use their emotions and mood to design their steps.
When and Where?
This form of dance, like mnay others, began in the 20th century in America. Modern dance is the product of European dancers who began to rebel against the rules of ballet, and into a more freestyle type of dance.
