Ms. Frazier's Funky Fourth Graders
Science Edition!
A New Storm Is Coming In!
Hello Families! As you know, we just recently completed our unit on the rain forest. We are now brewing up new things in science class! From March 18-March 29, we will be learning all about weather systems. This science edition of our class newsletter will give you a sneak peak of what to expect for this unit, and remind you of some important dates that are coming up soon!
Powerful Nature
One category within weather systems that we will explore includes natural disasters. We will examine what they are, what causes them, and what type of damage they can cause.
Who Studies the Weather?
We will explore what it takes to study the weather, and who those people are. We will also expand our weather vocabulary.
What Cycle?
We will come to better understand the water cycle, asking questions such as - How does it work? What does that have to do with me?
I Need Your Help!
We typically hold science class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon from 2pm - 2:45pm. If you are free during these times, we would love to have you assist our class with experiments and science related activities. On Friday, March 22, we will be taking a field trip to the local news station to meet the meteorologist. This will tentatively take place from 9am-11:30am (we will not have science that afternoon). We need chaperons for this event! Please call or email me if you are interested in joining us on this trip - my contact information is listed below.
