Music Selection for Incoming 6th Graders
Over the past week Mr. Reinert, Webster's Associate Principal, and I met with all of the district's 5th graders to begin the transition to Webster. Our purpose in meeting with them was to introduce ourselves and to provide them with an overview of Webster. We had fun with some Webster trivia, talked about their schedule, the different classes they will have, and described the extra-curricular opportunities they could participate in.
Please click here to see our presentation.
Don't forget to check your email that contains the link to make your child's music selection. We need those done as quickly as possible.
Please click here for our course description guide.
If you have any questions please contact Kelly Stone in the Webster office at kstone@cedarburg.k12.wi.us or at 262-376-6505.

7th Grade Courage Retreat
The 7th Grade Courage Retreat was Thursday, February 9th, 2017.
Youth Frontiers from Minnesota once again brought their dynamic retreat to Webster for a full-day retreat focused on “courage”, education, and character.
Our school believes that to do well in school, students need to be comfortable with who they are and feel physically and emotionally safe. In this effort to create a safe and caring culture, we are bringing in Youth Frontiers for the fourth year in a row to facilitate a Courage Retreat.
During the Courage Retreat, 7th graders focused on creating a more positive school community in a variety of activities that build empathy skills and teach safe ways to help prevent bullying.
The Retreat took place in the gymnasium. On that day 7th graders had classes during Block 1-2 only . The rest of the day they were in the Retreat in small groups with a CHS student leader and facilitators from Youth Frontiers. The students brought a brown bag lunch and ate with their group.
To continue the positive effects of the experience we encourage parents/guardians to inquire about the retreat experience once the student returns home by asking the following questions:
What activities did you find fun?
What were some of the fears that you discussed with your classmates during the small-group discussions?
What does it mean to be courageous?
What is one thing you can do tomorrow at school to show more courage?
Visit www.youthfrontiers.org/parents/my-child-is-on-a-retreat/ for more information, to access great parent resources and to watch a video about the Courage Retreat.

8th Grade Career Day
What do you want to do when you grow up? What are your strengths and interests? What hobbies and activities do you like to do now? What are your favorite and least favorite classes? Do you know what the 16 Career Clusters are? These are some questions our 8th graders will explore on Career Day.
The 8th Career Day will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2017
This will be a half day, morning event for all 8th graders.
Students choose sessions they wish to attend in the “Career Clusters” that are of interest to them.
By The Way: Please consider volunteering for Career Day in 2018. It is always an exciting and
educational day for our 8th grade students, especially as they begin to contemplate their high school years and beyond!
Thank you.
