Upcoming Events/Reminders/Notices
Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me this past week! It was so great to have conversations with all of you about your awesome kiddos! It has been a great start to the year, and I am so excited to see where the rest of the year takes us!
If you came to a conference before Wednesday, your child's report card and ISTEP information will be in his/her Friday Folder today.
From Mrs. Talarzyk:
We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week Monday October 24th-Friday October 28th. Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign to educate people about the harmful effects of drugs and to encourage them to respect their bodies by staying drug-free. At school, students will engage in activities that promote a drug free and healthy lifestyle.
To kick off our Red Ribbon Week on Monday, October 24, 2016 Center Grove's School Resource Officers will visit our school to provide presentations to all grade levels. During the program the officers will discuss ways to keep our bodies healthy and the importance of not putting drugs into our bodies so we can reach our goals.
We will also have some fun with Red Ribbon Spirit Days:
Monday 10/24/16: “Wear Red From Head to Toe Day” to kick off the beginning of Red Ribbon Week. We are wearing red in support of Red Ribbon Week and to show your dedication to being drug free!
Tuesday 10/25/16: “Sporting the Drug-Free Lifestyle!”” wear your sweats and athletic/exercise gear to show being drug free is no sweat!
Wednesday 10/26/16: “Give Drugs the Boot” Wear your Western wear and boots to show support for stomping out drug use!
Thursday, October 27th: “Lei off Drugs”: Wear your Hawaiian beach clothes and surf the drug free wave!
Friday, October 28th: “Follow Your Dreams, Don’t Use Drugs!”: Wear your PJs to show that you have big dreams without drugs!

Graded Levels - I.1, K.1, L.1, N.1 due Friday, 11/4
One thing I've been trying the last few weeks is having a minilesson on the Grammar subject at the beginning of the week. Then, the students are assigned all the levels in Language ixl that pertain to what the minilesson was over. Out of those levels, I tell the students which ones I will take a grade on so they can focus on those first. Students can log-in to ixl at home as well (just make sure they log-in through Center Grove) to work on any of these levels, but do not feel like this is an extra thing you need to be doing at home. The kids have been doing really well at getting done successfully at school.
