All About Reindeer!
We spent this last week doing some non-fiction research on reindeers!
We talked about what reindeer look like, what they eat, and where they live.
We had SO much fun!
Shoe Tying
Please begin to work with your child (if you haven't already) on tying his/her shoes and/or boots. They can then become a shoe tie expert and show off their skills to others:)
Winter Gear
Please remember to try and label all hats, mittens and boots just in case they get lost. Let me know if you have any questions:)
All About Reindeer!
Holiday Week!
Next week we are celebrating the holiday's with some school spirit.
Monday’s Holiday Cheer: Wear your favorite holiday sweater, shirt, or vest.
Tinsel Tuesday: Wear anything that sparkles and shines for this day; you can also wear favorite holiday headwear!
Wild Flannel Wednesday: Wear your favorite flannel attire.
Twisted Thursday: Come dressed in candy cane colors.
Friday's Long Winters Nap: Wear your favorite winter, comfy-cozy pajamas.
What did we learn this week?
Writing: Students continued using their first editing strategy called "dot and say." They continued to use the "Who, Did What, and When" in their sentences.
Phonics: We learned the poem "5 Little Reindeer" and the students found rhyming and HFW. (said, me) We continued to work on Consonant, Vowel, Consonant words (CVC words). We learned the -ing family in our poetry.
Math: We began working on "teen" numbers this week. We talked about how a 'teen" number is 10 + ___ to equal the number. We also practiced writing our "teen" numbers.
