PSAT Day at HRVHS - October 19
Juniors and Sophomores will be taking the PSAT test in the morning. Test locations will be posted Monday, October 17th around the school. If a student is late, they will not be able to take the test and will be in study hall for the morning.
Freshman will have a special morning schedule. They will pick up a special schedule in the foyer when they come to school.
Seniors: is a non-school day. Seniors can work on college or financial aid applications or work on their essential skills to meet graduation requirements.

The SAT is November 5th, students have until Oct 7 to register.

Photo Retakes - October 21 - 7:30 to Noon
In the Theatre Hall
Have your student pick up a retake order envelope in the main office before October 21. If your student did not get an ASB card, please make sure to have them get their picture taken even if you are not purchasing photos.

Summit News: College Fair - Wednesday, November 2, 6:00 – 8:00pm
This evening is designed to help parents and students navigate the college admission process. It will start with a college fair in HRV Commons. The following colleges will have admission representatives and information available from 6:00 – 6:30: Eastern Oregon University, George Fox University, Oregon State University, Pacific University, Portland State University, University of Oregon, University of Portland, Western Oregon University, Columbia Gorge Community College, Central Oregon Community College,, , Linfield, Lewis and Clark, and Mt. Hood Community College.
At 6:30, admission representatives will be presenting specific information about their campus and programs, HRV Counselors and ASPIRE Coordinator will be presenting workshops dealing with the specific application process at all types of post-secondary schools along with information about scholarships and the financial aid process. This information will be presented in Spanish as well. This evening is directed primarily at juniors and seniors but all are welcome. Hope you will join us.

AVID Field Trip to OSU
Senior Photos - Due November 3rd
ALL senior photos must be submitted to the yearbook ONLINE.
The process is simple. There are two ways to submit your photo:
1)Go to www.hrvhs.com. On the left, click the link that says "Submit Senior Photos". Follow the directions. You will need an email address. The school code is hrvhs. PLEASE upload only ONE photo.
OR
2) Go to www.HJeShare.com. Use this school code to log-in: hrvhs. Follow the directions. You will need an email address.
Senior photos for the HRVHS yearbook are due by Thursday, November 3, 2016. We cannot guarantee that late photos will be printed in the yearbook.
Seniors should schedule appointments with photographers no later than September 1, 2016. We strongly encourage students to get a photo taken during the summer months when photographers are not overbooked. If students get photos taken locally, the photographer should forward their photos to the yearbook staff. If photos are taken out of town, it is the responsibility of the student to get a photo taken that meets our yearbook specifications. Also, students using out of town photographers must hand-deliver their portraits to the yearbook adviser by the deadline.
Here are the specifications for the 2016-17 school year: A color or black and white, upper body shot; "head and shoulders" looks best A vertical photo Fashion hats only, no messages Background may be any color, indoor or outdoor Digital images must be at least 300 dpi at 1.5" x 2" (when you submit online, you will be told if your photo's resolution is not correct).
DEADLINE: Thursday, November 3, 2016 Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please call Nan Noteboom, at 386-4500. Baby ad information will be mailed to parents of seniors in November. Baby ads are due in mid-December. Students are to submit "flashback photos," not parents. The senior class photo will be taken in May, 2017.
