April 23, 2018
Dear Village Oaks Families,
The wait is almost over...Spring Fling is just a few days away! This Friday, April 27 from 5:30pm-8:00pm please join us for this special VO event. Every dollar raised from Spring Fling goes directly to enrich the education of our Village Oaks students, which then enriches and strengthens the community around us. The funds provide educational opportunities for the children, which include: assemblies, author/illustrator presentations, extracurricular math programs, reading programs and many other wonderful programs that would not be possible without funds from VOICE. Please see some important Spring Fling messages below.
Sincerely,
Alex

We thank Mrs. Kortlandt for her commitment to our beloved school and wish her the best as she embarks on a new journey! Mrs. LaKeisa Williams was recently hired and will replace Mrs. Kortlandt in the main office. Mrs. Williams is excited to serve VO as our new secretary and looks forward to meeting all members of our learning community. Please stop into the office to greet Mrs. Williams and welcome her to Team VO!

Spring Fling Important Update
Dear Parents,
As you know, Spring Fling is our biggest event of the year. It is also one of our most important fundraisers of the year. This fundraiser supports our school, teachers and students directly. Even more importantly, this fundraiser cannot happen without the volunteers of our parent community! Your child’s teachers have signed up to volunteer (even though they are in class and teach all day), we now need your help! If we do not have enough volunteers, we will not be able to run all of the games! Don’t let this year be the year Spring Fling was cut short!
Please see the attached flyer and please use the following link to sign up and help our school during Spring Fling. Your Teachers and your Children will thank you for it!

VO Flags
One of the things that makes our building so special is our diverse student population--we have families in our community who come from all over the world! To celebrate our global diversity we have hung flags in our cafeteria that represent many of the countries of our VO families. As a gift from our retirees from last year we were given ten flags of the following countries: Israel, India, England, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Nigeria, South Korea, China, and USA. Thank you to our parents who have also donated the following flags: Poland, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Nepal, Greece, Pakistan, Uruguay, Ecuador, Portugal, Spain, Central African Republic, South Africa, Wales, Iceland, and Armenia. If you would like to purchase a flag of your country of origin or to represent one of the many nationalities of our school please visit Amazon and search for an ANLEY 3x5 flag: VO Flags
Before purchasing and donating the flag to our school’s collection please contact me or one of our secretaries with the flag information so we can make sure that another family has not already ordered the same flag.
