Jefferson Calendar for January 2021 Revised on 1.14.21
Second Semester Student Schedules
This Tuesday, January 19, 2021 is the start of the 3rd quarter. Last week, families and students received information regarding the student placement for either AM or PM sessions. Many students kept the same schedule, but several students had complete schedule changes.
Starting this Tuesday, 1.19.21:
- ALL students will follow their new schedule.
- ALL students will report to Advisory at 8:30am followed by periods 1, 3, 5, & 7.
- ALL classes (regardless of AM or PM assignment) will meet at the same time as they have in the past until further notice.
- ALL students will follow the schedule above for the rest of January.
- AM classes will meet synchronously with ALL students.
- PM sessions will continue asynchronously with Academic Support sessions.
- In-person attendance and PM attendance will not begin until the hybrid schedule has started.
More details regarding the February calendar, In-Person procedures, AM/PM Hybrid attendance, transportation, meal programs, and many other details will be communicated later this week. Please check your email regularly for the latest updates and communications from both Jefferson and District 45. If you have any questions, please contact the Jefferson principal, Raul Gaston, directly at rgaston@d45.org
Martin Luther King Day
On Monday, 1.18.21, District 45 recognizes the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with a non-school attendance day. According to the Amiricorps website, "This is the 26th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities." Enjoy the day with your family contributing to our community in any way you prefer.
Early Dismissal
Help spread the word!
The Mobile Food Pantry, in collaboration with the Tri-Town YMCA and other community partners, will be this Friday, January 22, 2021 4:00-5:30pm at Jefferson Middle School. If you know of any families in need or who could benefit of some healthy meals and essential items, please pass pass on to them the information and the attached flyer. Together we can all help support everyone in our community.
Important Reminder
District 45 would like to remind families that information on remote learning and in-person hybrid learning can be found on the Return to School website at d45.org/returntoschool. Please continue to check this website for the latest updates and details.
Congratulations to the 8th grade Rockstars for the 2nd quarter. They are doing an outstanding job during remote learning. We know it's not easy, but these students are doing amazing. We are proud of you!
Materials Pick-up
On Wednesday, 1.27.21, from 11:30am to 4:00pm, teachers that wish to have additional resources available to students can have them available for pick-up. Students can check with their teachers to see if there is anything they need to pick-up. If there's something for your student to pick-up, feel free to stop in and pick-up the 5 free breakfast and 5 free lunches from the D45 meal program while you're there.
