Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 9 - BWT Elite Rugby Squad
Year 9 students , who successfully made it onto the newly-formed Brooke Weston Trust elite rugby squad, attended their first training session as members of the team.
Christmas Showcase
Tickets are still available and all donations will go to Corby Food Bank.
National Citizen Service
Pictured is Mrs Arnold receiving our award for outstanding engagement. NCS will visit school in the New Year to talk about the programme to Year 11 students.

- Mr Gourlay would like to say well done to Year 12 Computer Science students for their fantastic work on their programming projects.
- Miss Watt has nominated the following Year 10 students for their fantastic assessments and results in German, Kelci, Grace, Callum-John, Dominika, Courtney, Erin, Amber, Ewan, Martyna, Maciej, Aidan, Emma and Bella.
- Mr Cox has nominated the GCSE Drama class for an excellent physical theatre performance this week and all those involved in the CTS choir for an excellent rehearsal.
- The Science team have nominated the Year 9 Biologists for their hard work on some tricky topics.
- Mr Lee has nominated his Year 9 Mathematicians for their hard work on direct proportions.
- Mrs Ferns has nominated her Year 8 Mathematicians for their great work and understandings in Maths.
- Mr Bidwell has nominated Ryan 9C and Lee 9S for a great improvements in their assessment technique in Geography.
- Mr McRae-Smith has nominated Jack 9S, Jack is a new student and has just started studying German and completed a great assessment.
- Mr Harley has nominated Taylor 10S and Rainers 10T, both have made excellent progress with the Junior Hacksaw Project in Engineering.
Celebration of Student Work:
Year 8 - Food Technology
Declan in 8C made these fantastic Gingerbread biscuits in Food Technology this week.
Year 10 - Engineering
Year 10 Engineering students have had the opportunity to use our new vertical milling machine this week.
Year 11- Engineering
Year 11 Engineers have also been using the new milling machine and centre lathe when making their engineers tool clamp for their GCSE controlled assessment.
Reminders:
- Our Christmas Showcase will take place on Tuesday 19th December at 7.00pm. Tickets can still be "purchased" at school reception with a donation to Corby Food Bank.
- Christmas Lunch is on Wednesday 20th December, please ensure your child has sufficient funds on their Wisepay acocunt. All students may wear Christmas jumpers from Period 3 onwards.
- School will close to students on Thursday 21st December and will reopen on Tuesday 9th January 2018.
