What is Renaissance Learning?
Renaissance Learning Inc. (RLI) is an educational assessment and learning analytics company that makes cloud-based educational software for use in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
What is Accelerated Reader?
The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.
What is the meaning of Accelerated Reading?
Accelerated Reader (AR) is software for schools kindergarten through 12th grade used for monitoring the practice of reading. It was created by Renaissance Learning, Inc. There are two versions: a desktop version and a web-based version in Renaissance Place, the company's online portal.
How do students access Renaissance Learning?
Students access Renaissance Learning (RL) by logging into a computer then double clicking on the Renaissance Learning app icon located on their desktop. This will open RL, student will then type in their student ID for username and birth date (exp. 010101).
Once in the student will be able to take AR assessment by looking for their book or Star360 assessments.
What is ATOS level on a book?
ATOS book levels are assigned using the ATOS readability formula. For example, a book level of 4.5 means that the text could likely be read independently by a student whose reading skills are at the level of a typical fourth-grade student during the fifth month of school.

You will then be able to sort your search results, select book titles to add to your AR BookBag, print a list of your search results, or start a new search.

Lexile
Lexile: A popular method used by schools to measure a student reader's ability is Lexile level or a Lexile Measure. A Lexile measure is a valuable tool for teachers, parents, and students. It serves two unique functions: it is the measure of how difficult a text is OR a student's reading ability level.

Loraine Foushee is a life-long learner that enjoys sharing her knowledge with individuals aspiring to reach their full potential. Loraine completed her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Media Production and her Master of Education in Instructional Technology at American InterContinental University (AIU). It was immediately after receiving her Bachelors in Media Production that Loraine started her career as a Production Technician at a market-8 News Station, CBS46 Atlanta for 6 years.
Loraine transitioned to a career in education, she shared her love of media production with high school students for 7 years. Her career has spanned Clayton County, Gwinnett County and Cobb County. Loraine completed her Specialist degree in Education with Certification in Library Media Science in 2013. She accepted her current position as the proud Media Specialist of D.H. Stanton Elementary in 2014.
Loraine Foushee is also an award winning video producer with more than 10 years of industry experience, founded Blame It On Loraine, A Foushee Film Company, L.L.C. in 2010. Based in the burgeoning film capital of Atlanta Georgia; Blame It On Loraine's team of videographers, editors and web designers provide the foundation of this reputable digital production firm.
