Field Flash
November 10, 2023
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope your family has had a nice week!
Our Lost & Found is quite full! Please ask your child to take a look for any lost items. If you'd like to stop by during the week of November 13th, we'll have the Lost & Found in the main office. Over Thanksgiving, we'll donate any remaining items. I've posted a few pictures below for reference.
A few items:
Now that colder weather has arrived, please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. We are outside most days for recess.
This week, I've received several contacts from community members who have shared that Field parents are blocking their driveways and/or parking illegally on Elmore. The Park Ridge police may begin to issue tickets. Please help us be good neighbors during arrival and dismissal! I've included pictures below of the signs for reference.
We want to wish all of our student performers great luck this weekend in the Field Follies performances! Break a leg!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

YEARBOOK- Custom Cover Contest
FIELD students, this is your opportunity to show off your art skills and creativity. Yearbook team is looking for custom cover submission for this 2023-2024 yearbook.
We would like the students to draw what they dream about Field School when they are away from Field school! What is your Field student’s favorite activity, favorite teacher, favorite class, that they love so much, they dream about it.
Please have these artists draw their thoughts on an 8x10 paper. Be sure to write “Field school 2023-2024” somewhere on their submission, preferably in the center.
Students can hand carry their submission into:
1. Their teacher
2. Front Office
Or
3. Electronically at fieldschoolyearbook@gmail.com
DEADLINE = Wednesday Dec 20th!
PARENTS OF 2ND GRADERS - CHROMEBOOKS
After Thanksgiving Break, our second grade students, districtwide, will begin to bring their chromebooks to and from school each day. Here's a few helpful tips:
- Keep the chromebook in the protective case
- Create a charging routine at home each night
- Keep the charger in a safe spot
- Create a morning checklist (backpack, chromebook, lunch, etc) to help remember the chromebook each day.
K-8 Families,
We are offering an exciting opportunity for all K-8 parents/guardians that pertains to our new mathematics curricula. On November 28th, at 7pm, at Emerson Middle School, we invite parents/guardians to engage in a lesson simulation with a D64 grade-level teacher.
You will sit in the seats as a student and fully understand what it means to be part of a math class with our new curriculum resources (Eureka Squared: K-5, and Carnegie Math (6-8))!
A teacher will offer a brief introduction to the program and then teach an actual lesson your child would experience this year. Space is limited, so please RSVP using this form. Be sure to click the appropriate math placement for your child.
If you are not sure of your child’s placement, please call your school’s main office. We look forward to seeing you there!
*Note: Students in 7th or 8th Grade Channels of Challenge or 8th Grade Accelerated Math are not utilizing the Carnegie resources. Therefore, this opportunity is not available right now for those parents/guardians.
Best,
Samantha Alaimo
Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning
Trimester 1 Report Cards
All trimester 1 report cards will now be made available to view digitally this school year through the District’s parent portal! Instead of receiving a paper copy, parents will access their child’s report card at their own leisure and convenience. The trimester 1 report card will be available to view on December 1st at 8am. After viewing online, you will be asked to digitally sign off that you have viewed your child’s report card. To be sure you can access this report card, please follow these directions for how to login. We hope this will allow parents better access to their child’s educational achievement.
If you would still like to request a paper copy or are unsure of how to login, please contact the main office secretary or building principal for assistance prior to December 1st.
