Attendance on Self- Sustained Learning (Asynchronous) Days
As a reminder, when students are working on self-sustained learning days, attendance is based on students logging onto Canvas. Students will be marked present when they log into each teacher’s Canvas class between the hours of 8:20am and 2:35pm. Students with 8th period have until 3:30 to log onto Canvas. As a parent, you can create a Canvas account and view each of your child’s classes. If you would like to check your child’s absence report in Parent Vue please watch this video.
Family Information/Game Night
Did you know...?
· -E-cigarettes are the most commonly used tobacco product among U.S. middle and high school students.
· -Some E--cigarettes don't look like tobacco products, so some kids use them unnoticed in schools, including in bathrooms.
· -JUUL delivers a high dose of nicotine. Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development.
Join us at Family/Information Game Night March 24th @6:00PM to learn more.
Contact:lgarza@powayusd.comStudent Medication Administered on Campus
In preparation for our return to campus, if your student needs medication administered during school hours updated documentation must be provided to the Heath Office prior to your child coming onto campus. Our Health Tech, Sarah Pierce, is on campus 5 days a week to take in the medication and the necessary forms (to be completed by child's physician). Please reach out to Ms. Pierce, spierce@powayusd.com, to set up appointments to bring the completed forms and medications to campus.
Please note, we will not be able to administer medication to your child until we have the medication and completed documents brought in together, signed by the Pediatrician.

No Place for Hate/Community of Kindness
Digging deeper and building on last month’s Community of Kindness “Names Matter” lesson, this month’s focus is on “Identity”. Last week in Advisory class, students were able to learn how a person’s identity may consist of various personal, social, visible and invisible identities that impact how we view ourselves, interact with each other and how being aware of that can help us create a kinder community. Mustangs were given an opportunity to engage in a fun activity with their classmates sharing an image that represented part of their identity, guess which images belonged to others and reflect on their process. We encourage you to talk with your student regarding the activity, what image they chose to share and what they learned about their peers.
