Cougar Reminders
Message from Mr. Palermo
Hay Families,
Tomorrow is our first day of remote learning! The staff at Charles Hay is eager and excited to get this experience started and reconnect with your children. Below you will find some more detail to help you as a parent/guardian navigate the learning with your child(ren).
Online Classrooms
Each teacher will have an online classroom. Kindergarten and 1st grade will take place through Seesaw and 2nd grade-6th grade will be through Google Classroom. Your child will receive an "invite" to their classroom through email and some may already have access as this is a tool that many teachers were already using.
Schedules/Assignments
All teachers will be providing a "recommended" schedule on their classroom site. This is to help students stay on track with daily learning and turning in assignments. Please know that we recognize that many of you are working as well and there is flexibility for the schedule to meet your needs as a family. At the beginning of each week you will receive a check list of assignments that should've been completed the week before, as well as a list of assignments that are going to be assigned in the week ahead. All assignments will include a due date along with learning resources and even some videos from their teachers.
Monday will be a planning day for teachers and instruction will take place Tuesday-Friday. All learning will be posted and ready for students by 8am each day. Teachers will also have office hours each day from 2:30-3:30 via Zoom. Just check out their online classroom for how to join. You may also email your teacher directly and/or ask them to set up a time to call you.
Class Meetings
Our teachers are scheduling class meetings to take place during the following times, Tues.-Fri. This will be a great time for students to see their teachers, additional Hay Staff, and students from their classroom. We hope all students can join each day. The link to join will be in your students online classroom through Zoom.
K-1st 9:00-9:30
2nd-3rd 9:30-10:00
4th-5th 10:00-10:30
6th 10:30-11:00
Please reach out to your teacher with questions OR our office staff, Megan_Walcott@engschools or Matthew_Palermo@engschools with any questions, concerns, or if you need additional support.
Thank you again for your patience as we start our online learning!

Digital Learning Resources
Englewood Schools has compiled extensive learning resources for students to access during the extended closure of our schools. Linked here is a website with the optional, supplemental resources. The site will be updated periodically throughout the closure. While we know these resources do not replace classroom instruction, they are designed to provide students an opportunity to continue their learning. We understand that questions might arise on how to use the resources. If you have questions regarding the resources linked on the website, please contact Learning_Services@engschools.net.
