Schedule FAQs
Q: Where will I find my locker?
A: For 7th graders, lockers are located closely to homeroom/1st period classes. For most 8th & 9th graders, lockers are located closely to 6th period/Resource classes.
Q: When is Resource this year?
A: Resource happens right after 6th period. In most cases, students will have the same class for 6th period and Resource. Some students, (e.g., students who have specials 6th period) will need to travel to their Resource period.
Q: When do I eat lunch?
A: The entire 9th grade eats lunch after 3rd period. The entire 8th grade eats lunch after 4th period. The entire 7th grade eats lunch together after 5th period.
Q: What is Forum and when does it happen?
A: Forum is called "Tiger's Eye" at Tamanend. It is a time when students and teachers meet in small groups to discuss important social/emotional topics relevant to middle school students. Starting sometime in November, we will have Tiger's Eye on Tuesdays after 3rd period once or twice a month.
Q: What time does school start for students?
A: Everyone needs to be in their Homeroom/1st period by 7:30 a.m. We have a warning bell that rings at 7:27 a.m. Please remember, students are not permitted to arrive to Tamanend until 7:10 a.m. for safety and supervision reasons.

Parking Lot Safety
It is highly recommended that parents/guardians of students who walk or take the bus have their students walk or take the bus. On days, when students need extra help, please consider driving them to their assigned bus stop and wait together in the car until the bus arrives. A student will never be marked tardy if they arrive by bus.
If parents decide to drive students to school, please plan enough travel time to allow for safety and congestion on Stuckert Road and in our school parking lot. The speed limit in our lot is 15 mph.
The following is a mapping of how the student drop-off works in our parking lot. Drop off should only happen where the paw prints indicate on the map. For your safety and the safety of our students, please follow these directions and do not drop your student off on Stuckert Road, the Visitor's Parking area, or in the middle of the Main Parking Area. Thank you for your support and careful driving.

Tamanend Parent Council
Parent Council is an open meeting where all parents are welcome to attend to learn more about Tamanend Middle School. Parent Council typically meets on the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. There is no obligation to attend all Parent Councils and there are no elected positions. Parent Council is a forum for parents and school leaders to learn from and with each other, together.
At this month's Parent Council, we will give an overview of Tamanend and talk about topics of parent interest for Parent Council meetings throughout the year.
