Message from the Assistant Principal
Greetings Panda Family-
This month your students will be learning about cooperation as a way to build the Portrait of a Graduate skill. One way to think about cooperation is to think about cooperation as working together to reach a common goal. As a school community, we collaborate to support our students to increase their math fluency and numeracy through our collective work at home and school to ensure our students show growth. This is not easy work and can often be challenging to ensure that the student shows growth, but we work together to ensure our common goal of growth is met.
This is a great opportunity to discuss the connection between cooperation and being unified, one of our Panda PROUD characteristics. We will all work on a team at some point in our lives and we need the skills necessary to reach our goals. This requires communication skills, the ability to find common ground and the language to disagree or challenge our peers appropriately. Cooperation and being unified are learned skills that we all can support our Pandas in developing.
As a family, talk through how you work towards common goals together as a family. Can your student discuss how they have had to work with others at school to achieve a common goal?

Everything Y-Tie
Thank you Car Rider Parents
Thank you so much for your cooperation in the car rider line! Due to your ongoing support, our line is running smoothly and quickly! Please encourage your child to listen when their name is called and to go quickly to the car rider line where you are already waiting! This keeps the line moving!
Many thanks to those who have offered gatorade, water and other drinks and snacks to those of us who work outside! This is such a wonderful surprise and you have no idea how much it means to us!
WPE Important Information 🐼
Counselor Corner:
This 9 weeks we are focusing on Decision Making. Try this at home to support this skill - Talking with the grownups we trust, and who take care of us, helps us think about what is important and what we value. It stretches the way we think about the world and makes us more confident about how to handle ourselves. Talking often about ideas we have and choices we’re making helps make it more comfortable when it comes time for a big decision.
Think about some things to talk with them about—something you’re interested in or want to get advice about. Here are topics that you could discuss with your child this week. You could share your ideas and give them the option to share theirs with you.
• “I’m curious about…”
• “I’m interested in…”
• “How can I…”
• “What do you think about…”
• “What’s important to you when you’re thinking about making a big decision?”
Personalized Counseling has started! Click here for a quick video from Dr. Fagan about Personalized Counseling! Fast forward to 6 minutes for the part on Elementary 1:1 meetings. If you have any questions about our 1:1 meetings, please feel free to contact me directly.
Have your child wear a college shirt or color every Wednesday to support our Wisdom Wednesday. On Wisdom Wednesdays, the students will focus on their future. Learning about careers, setting goals and looking ahead will help us to be successful and reach our full potential.
Please join us for the First Annual Suicide Awareness Walk, hosted by Humble ISD Counseling & Behavioral Services, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Kingwood Park High School, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This free event is open to our entire Humble ISD Community. No registration is required.

News From Nurse Lindsey
The Nurses Clinic Needs YOUR Help
The clinic could really use your help in stocking our shelves. We are running low on girls and boys bottoms for clothing changes. As mentioned in the past, clothes are kept so that our students can change without having to interrupt a parent's day. Sometimes they change because of restroom accidents, but a lot of times it is for food/drink spills, mud puddles, or being out of dress code. Below is a list of what would be most useful to have in our clinic. Good condition, used clothes are always welcome.
-Female leggings (all sizes)
-Female athletic shorts/pants (all sizes)
-Male athletic shorts/pants (all sizes)
-Male and female underwear (all sizes) THESE MUST BE NEW IN PACKAGE
Thank you in advance!!!
