New Traffic Pattern
A new traffic sign has been recently added to our campus! The sign is visible as you exit Mays Chapel onto Roundwood Road. Drivers will no longer be permitted to make a left-hand turn during arrival and dismissal hours. This will help ensure that all students and community members stay safe during high traffic times.
Hearing and Vision Screenings
Screenings for students in Pre-K, K, 1st, and 4th grade are scheduled on February 10th through the 16th. These screenings are done by the Baltimore County Department of Health and are free of charge to students in those designated grades. Parents will be notified via letter with results and if follow-up by an eye doctor or care provider is needed. If you have a child in one of these grades and they wear glasses or hearing aids, please ensure that they have them in place. Thank you!

Additional Details
Free Home Test Kits
BCPS families are eligible to receive one free test kit for every child that is enrolled in a Baltimore County Public School. Only students that are actively attending Mays Chapel will be eligible to receive a test kit at this location. We are unable to distribute kits for additional siblings. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Test kits will be available in the office Monday - Friday, 9:30-4:00.
In School Testing
In accordance with BCPS COVID testing protocol, in school testing is available for those that develop COVID-like symptoms during the school day. This means individuals are eligible for in-school COVID testing if COVID-like symptoms develop during school hours. This BCPS protocol applies to both staff and students. Individuals that develop symptoms outside of school hours are asked to stay home and access outside clinics and care providers for testing. For the health and safety of our students and staff, please do not come to school to access COVID testing if you have symptoms. Schools are not equipped to function as testing centers. Parent consent is required before student testing may occur. Thanks for your consideration. contact: Ms. Katie Potter-Lanier klanier@bcps.org
BCPS Metrics for Partial or Full-School Closures
Consistent with the Maryland Department of Health definition, five percent or more of unrelated students/teachers/staff (minimum of 10 of these individuals) testing positive for COVID-19 in a 14-day period is a consideration. However, please note that the 5 percent threshold does not automatically result in school closure. If a decision is made for a temporary transition to virtual learning, parents/guardians at the school will be notified
