New Staff
Welcome George Patterson - QR Room (Math)
Welcome Rachel Padula - 4th Grade
Welcome Maria Swisher - QR Room (Math)
My name is Maria Swisher and I this is my 29th year as an educator in the SCSD. I love what I do, and that is get students to really understand and dig mathematics! I have taught as an elementary teacher for over twenty years and have also worked both as an interventionist and a district level mathematics coach supporting algebra instruction. Needless to say, I love math, but I also love to spend time in my gardens at my home in Tully, be outdoors hiking, traversing creeks, kayaking local waterways, or hearing local music, which is my favorite! That's just a little about me. I am super excited to be at Salem working to build the "Quantitative Reasoning Room." In this space I will support students in filling in instructional gaps through problem solving and fluency work. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and I look forward to many years helping your children here at Salem Hyde.
Welcome Adam Linden - Math AIS
Welcome Shawna Morgan - Kindergarten
This is my 5th year teaching. I was a 4th grade teacher at LeMoyne Elementary. I am married and have two children! I am very excited to be in Kindergarten at Salem Hyde!
Congratulations to Ms. Gillette (5th Gr) for completing a marathon! Well Done!
Halloween at Salem Hyde ~ Friday, October 29
The parade will begin at 2:00 pm. We will come out the back of the building and walk around to the front of the building. Per guidance from our district, no treats, candy, food, etc. may be brought in to share.
As long as the weather is cooperating, parents/guardians may line up outside along the parade route to enjoy our costumes. Please social distance while outside. Visiting family members will not be allowed inside the building.
If you plan on changing your child’s dismissal plan for that day, please send in a note with your child’s teacher or call the main office before 2:30. Keep in mind that for the safety of all children, we do not do any early dismissals after 2:30 pm. Dismissal begins at 2:55 pm. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and adherence to the expectations for our Halloween parade.
