What to do this weekend???
- Daphne Christmas Parade @ 11 a.m on Main Street in downtown Daphne on Saturday, December 12.
- Christmas Nights of Lights is a spectacular drive thru light show, Nov.6 - Jan.2, only $6.00 per person.
- Christmas at Crossroads is a fun, safe event for your family! It is on Saturday 5 pm - 8pm at Crossroads Fire Department in Bay Minette.

Italian Cream Cheese and Ricotta Cheesecake

Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 (16 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons flour

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a springform pan.
- Mix the cream cheese and ricotta cheese together in a mixing bowl until well combined. Stir in the sugar, eggs, lemon juice, vanilla, cornstarch, flour, and butter. Add the sour cream last and stir. Pour the mixture into the prepared springform pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven 1 hour; turn oven off and leave in oven 1 hour more. Allow to cool completely in refrigerator before serving.

- Cost is $25 per student. Tickets will be sold January 7th - January 15th
TALENT SHOW
- Talent show audition money/forms are due December 18th.
- Rehearsal will be March 23rd.
- The Talent Show will be March 24th (Thursday before Spring Break).

Boxtops!
Daphne Middle School particpates in the Boxtops for Education program, which means we collect Boxtop coupons! Two times in the school year, we will send in our boxtops, and the company sends us a check for the Library! Boxtops can be turned in to the Library, or to the school office. Bring as many as you can!

Spelling Bee
Our School Wide Spelling Bee will be held Thursday, January 7. The bee will begin at 9:00 and will be held in the library. Parents and/or guardians are invited to attend the spelling bee. We will announce over the intercom when it is time for students to report to the library. Refreshments will be served after the bee. Please let me or T. Taylor know if you have any questions.

MEET MRS. PHYLLIS LAW
Why did you choose to teach at DMS?
She says she likes to work with middle school students. Mrs. Law says that it's challenging but she likes it.
What is your expectation for your students?
Mrs. Law wants to improve in their learning and believes that everyone can learn.
Have you ever taught or worked at a different school? How long have you been at DMS?
She has worked at Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette. She has worked at DMS for 23 years.
Why did you choose to teach 8th grade English?
Mrs. Law said she's a high school teacher and 8th grade is the highest grade in middle school.
What makes you unique you as a teacher?
She said she's very respectful to her students and in return they are respectful to her. Therefore students usually learn from people they respect. Lastly, you can' teach anyone anything if you don't have their attention.
